How To Tack Up Your Draft Horse For The Vertically Challenged:

1) Ask to work with the tallest damn horse in the herd.

2) Get your horse's headstall.

3) Beg your horse to "Please, please, please, drop your head."

4) When the begging and pleading fail, get a ladder.

5) Climb up the ladder, risking a neck-breaking incident, and apply bridle.

And, of course, right about that time your horse will drop his head for you.

Marvelous.

And those 'lil arabs do the same thing.

Lol. I have the opposite problem, my arabian mare sticks her head between her front legs when she doesn't want to take a bit. She has long since realized that she is too short to raise her head.

LOL.... Has anyone noticed that I still had him cross tied on both sides? In Cisco's defense, he really couldn't drop his head very far (even if he had wanted to). Like they say, one needs to be smarter than the horse! Sigh.

Reminds me of trying to tube a choking Clydesdale while in vet school. Thank goodness he was close to the rail so I could reach his head.
